I am a doctoral candidate in Area Studies (South Asia) at Somerville College, University of Oxford. My project examines India’s 2016 demonetisation with focus on its impact on macroeconomy, black economy, financial inclusion and inequality. My research is supervised by Professor Hugh Whittaker. I hold a BA in Economics from Beijing Foreign Studies University, China and an MA in Intensive South Asian Studies from SOAS, University of London. Before coming to Oxford, I had one-year experience in India as an exchange student at Presidency University, Kolkata, and as a research intern in Gurgaon, mainly focusing on India-China Internet industry comparison.
