Dr Ankita Pandey
Departmental Lecturer in South Asian Studies
Dr. Ankita Pandey's research focusses on citizenship in practice, civil society-based activism, social movements, and legal mobilisation. In addition to her core training in political science, she draws from the disciplines of history and anthropology to explore the deepening of democracy in India since the 1960s. She received her DPhil from the University of Oxford where she was a Commonwealth Scholar. She is currently working on a book manuscript that examines the practices of civil rights groups in India as a distinct form of collective action.
