SARC Online Event (TODAY): India’s Informal Economy: Implications for Climate Change

The South Asia Research Cluster coordinator, Barbara Harriss-White, working with the Teachers Against Climate Crisis in Delhi, will present the extent of, and changes in, India’s informal economy and how it is understood. Her talk will lay out questions about climate change, including: the informal economy’s paramountcy in disposing of waste; its criminality and the extraction of natural resources; its environmental impacts; its innovative capacity, and the implications of informality inside the state.
