Wolfson College, together with the Welfare officers, presents a panel discussion on the historical context of Black Lives Matter (BLM) in the UK. What is the history of Black individuals and communities in this country? And how do we use this deep and fascinating history of Black lives--with all their achievements and struggles--to move forward with the BLM in the future? Dr. Nayanika Mathur discusses these questions with Britain's leading experts on the history of the Black experience in the UK: Prof. Olivette Otele and Prof. Hakim Adi.
This panel discussion is a part of a series of events arranged by the Wolfson Welfare Team and the BAME representative to celebrate Black History Month at Wolfson. Please RSVP for the event using the link for the event. We encourage the audience to participate and ask questions during the live online event on the Shindig website. We will also broadcast the event live on the College's YouTube channel where it can be watched later as well. Click here to watch on YouTube.
