We are delighted to announce that Nishad Sanzagiri was awarded the Barbara Harriss-White Prize for the highest scoring MSc thesis at last month's Examination Board meeting. Nishad's thesis was entitled "Indian Grand Strategy and the Quad: A Case for ‘Habitual Hedging’” and was one of seven theses awarded a distinction-level mark.
Nishad's research dealt with theorising India’s foreign policy and grand strategy by focusing on the under-theorised Indian Ocean Region (IOR), and using the case study of the embryonic ‘Quad’ or ‘Australia-India-Japan-United States Consultations'.
