Nayanika Mathur: book launch in Egypt

Professor Nayanika Mathur will speak tomorrow, Tuesday 2 April, at the American University of Egypt, Cairo, about her recent book Paper Tiger: Law, Bureaucracy and the Developmental State in Himalayan India.

The event will take place at the Flamenco Hotel in Zamalek and is open to the public.

Professor Mathur will also give a lecture to members of the American University on Thursday 4 April.

Paper Tiger won the Sharon Stephens Prize awarded bi-annually by the American Ethnological Society for the best first book by a junior scholar in 2017. For further details please see Nayanika Mathur wins the American Ethnological Society's (AES) Sharon Stephens Prize.
