CSASP is delighted to announce that the Barbara Harriss-White Prize for the best MPhil Modern South Asian Studies thesis in 2021 was awarded to Shrinidhi Narasimhan for her work entitled Enchanted Pasts: Tamil Anticaste Discourse, c. 1890-1940.
The Barbara Harriss-White Prize for the best MSc Modern South Asian Studies thesis was jointly awarded to three students in 2021: Fatima Afzal, Abhishek Matta Manjunath and Aneeska Sohal. Fatima's thesis was entitled Lost in Translation: National Imaginings in Early Twentieth Century Punjabi literature; Abhishek's was entitled Writing the Wild Child: Animality, Alterity and Representation; and Aneeska's was entitled Architectural Hindutva: The Shri Kaashi Vishwanaath Mandir Precinct Development.
