New UK loans available for Master’s study at Oxford

The UK’s Department for Business, Innovation and Skills has announced a new loans scheme for full-time and part-time master’s courses at English HEIs from 2016-17 entry. Eligible candidates can borrow up to £10,000 as a contribution towards their course and living costs.

Students are eligible to apply for loans if they are aged 60 or under, a UK or EU national resident in England (not solely for the purposes of study), and if they do not already hold a master’s-level qualification. Eligible courses are taught, research or professional master’s courses of either 1-2 years’ duration full-time or 2-4 years’ duration part-time at a minimum 50% intensity of full-time. A full list of eligible courses at Oxford, which includes all SIAS courses, is available on the University’s Master’s Loans web page, where you can find all information currently available, including more detail on eligibility and repayments.

Applications for loans are expected to open through the Student Finance England (SFE) website from June/July 2016.
