Summary: Created in 2006, OPHI is the Oxford branch of the Human Development and Capability Association's headquarters, twinned with the Harvard Global Equity Initiative. Funded by the International Development Research Centre and a gift from Tufts University, its objective is to conduct research and develop capacity to operationalise a new development model focused on human wellbeing. Operating through specialist networks, commissioned research and workshops, it has five projects: dimensions of poverty; ethical principles for poverty alleviation; motivation and economic behaviour; the application of technology to analysis and policy; the political economy of poverty.
